BLAENAU AMATEURS 2 LLANSTUMDWY 3.
This long hard season is starting to take its toll on a tired looking Amateurs side that kicked off this Monday evening Teejac Gwynedd League encounter as they try to clinch the points needed to clinch the title. They had a glorious early chance when Rhys Jones was clear on goal but his final effort was weak and off target and minutes later he had Caron Hughes in the visitors diving by his near post to keep out a shot. Half way through the half the visitors took the lead with a gift of an own goal from the home skipper Gary Hughes and Carl Threadgill took advantage of a slip by home keeper Gavin Lewis to double the score 4 minutes from the break. There were changes by the home side at the interval with Rhys Jones and Gary Hughes replaced by Geraint Owen and Keiron Ellis and the latter brought his side level within 6 minutes of the restart with a brace of well taken goals. Another mistake saw Meirion Pritchard clinch the win on 66 minutes. The home held seige on the Llanstumdwy goal but just couldn't get the equaliser their second half display deserved. One consolation they have 6 more home matches to play and hopefully get the points they need but the fixture pileup is definitely taking its tool on the squad.
